Seaforth Civil Pty Ltd has been contracted by Mackay Regional Council to build a rock fishway at Jolimont Creek, Kuttabul, Queensland. This fishway will facilitate fish migration, overcoming limitations posed by the existing weir and causeway. The creek features a rich network of aquatic habitats, and the fishway will connect the upper and lower reaches.

Located in the O’Connell River basin, Jolimont Creek follows the environmental goals outlined in the Proserpine River, Whitsunday Island, and O’Connell River Basins Environmental Values and Water Quality Objectives under the Environmental Protection (Water and Wetland Biodiversity) Policy 2019. Construction must comply with the Fisheries Act 1994.
