Mackay Regional Sports Precinct

This new $20 million dollar sporting complex will provide the local community and region with specialised sport and recreational facilities. The overall vision is to develop a multi-facility precinct which caters for the future growth of Mackay and meets the future planning needs for sport and recreation in the region.  The complex includes a synthetic surface running track and field event facilities and associated buildings; an Aquatic centre with 50 metre, 25 metre and 15 metre pools and associated buildings; Car parking facilities and other associated site infrastructure.

Seaforth Civils scope includes 2 main portions – Construction of Trunk Drainage system, and the Building Site Civil works.

The Trunk Drainage system consists of 1.7 kilometres of open drain of average 20m width and 2m depth.  The works include clearing and grubbing; removal of existing drainage structures and landscaping elements; stripping of 14,000m3 of topsoil; excavation of 43,000m3 of material for the drain construction; sewer and water mains realignment and lowering ; road accesses and culverts construction; landscaping including subsoil and topsoil amelioration and turfing.

The Building Site Civil works includes: clearing and grubbing; stripping of 6,000m3 of topsoil; excavation for 50m, 25m and LTS pools; Earthworks construction of building pads including Level 1 Earthworks Supervision and testing; construction of viewing mounds; construction of car parks and access roads.
